| Tubular
Heater : |
|
|
|
IH Tubular heater is the most versatile of all
electric heaters offering a wide range of ratings, sheath materials
and forms that can be applied to almost any temperature requirement,
Whether for heating of solids, liquids or gases.
Construction:
A metal tubular sheath of material selected to suit application,
surrounds a helical coil of Nickel-chrome resistance wire, centered
and tightly compacted by an
|
|
electrical insulator and heat transfer medium
of magnesium oxide. This gives a resistance spiral that can be varied
in heat concentration and cold length sections, protected from atmospheric
corrosion and mechanical abuse. Mounting bushes, header bosses,
flanges etc., can be fitted to suit all installation situations.
Specifications :
Diameter :
8.2mm, 11mm, 14mm, 16mm.
Sheath Materials :
copper, steel, stainless steel types 304 and 316 and incoloy 800.
Threaded Bosses :
1" BSP brass
1 1/2" BSP brass, steel, stainless steel.
2" BSP brass, steel, bronze, stainless steel.
2 1/2" BSP bronze, steel, brass.

| Finned
Tubular Heater : |
|
 |
The Fin rod is a standard steel sheathed tubular
heater with edge wound steel fins furnace copper brazed to the sheath
The fin , applied at 5.1 mm pitch , with an outside diameter of
30 mm , increases by 6 times the radiant surface of the heater ,
thus permitting high kW rating per unit length at relatively low
surface watt density. The Brazing of the fin assures maximum
|
| and rapid heat transfer , and
prevents fin vibration at high air velocities . |
Application :
|
| Natural Convection : |
Ovens, cabinets, food warmers,
convection heaters, incubators, anti condensation and defrost heaters
etc.,
Nominal Sheath temperature 270°C in still air at 20°C ambient.
Other low ratings can be manufactured dependent upon application .
|
| Forced Convection : |
Air ducts, blower type unit
heaters, recirculation and single pass ovens, dryers, load and discharge
resistors and industrial processes requiring heated air for drying,
baking preheating and curing etc,.
Maximum sheath temperature 400°C in still air at 20°C ambient.
|
| |
| Duct
Unit : |
|
 |
IH Flanged and insert duct heaters have finned
tubular sheathed heaters, secured by mounting bushes into a terminal
box, where the heaters can be prewired for a specified number of
stages if required.
The Flanged type is supplied complete with a robust , rust
|
|
resistant metal frame and internally insulated
with a non combustible material of thermal conductance not greater
than 30 Kw / meter square at 100°C , the insert type with a
heavy gauge mounting flange .
|
| We recommend for all duct heating
a minimum air velocity of 1 m/s and a maximum of 6 m/s . |
| Thermal cutout or manual reset
thermostats can be incorporated when specified . |

Heating : |
| Can be installed in new or old
ducts for complete or supplementary heating in central and air-conditioning
systems |
| Process
Air Heating : |
| For complete process air heating
, makeup air , and recirculating oven heating for drying , baking
and preheating and other industrial processes requiring heated. |
| Controls
: |
| An adjustable set point over
temperature manual reset thermostat , digital controller . |
| |
| Open
Coil : |
|
|
IH Open coil type heaters consist of an Nickel
chromium spiralled resistance wire mounted into , an insulated from
a metal frame , by high temperature ceramic bushes . The rating
of this wire will depend upon application (i.e.) black heat for
ducted air heating and red heat for a radiant application.
|
|
This type of construction gives a source of heat
with accurate temperature control. There is no tendency to overshoot
or undershoot because of the low mass of the heating spiral with
which heat rapidly when the circuit is made and cools quickly when
the circuit is broken.
